Scott AndersonParticipantFirst, thanks for all the detail in your post!
The first thing I tried was to replicate the error you’re experiencing.
Here’s what I did:
1) Create a new MyEclipse Web Project called TestProject
2) Select the web project and “Add Struts Capabilities…” using all the default values
3) Double-clicked on struts-config.xml to open it in the MyEclipse Struts Config editor
4) Clicked on the “Add global forward” icon in the design palette and entered “asdf” for the name and “/stuff” for the path
5) Saved the file with Ctrl+S then closed it.
6) Reopened the file by double clickingIn doing this, I did not experience the errors you’re experiencing so something I did must be different. Can you please review my steps (and try them yourself) and see how they differ from what you did to encounter the error? I also used ME 4.0.3 and Eclipse 3.1.1.

MaxMemberHi, tanks for your quick answer, I did follow your instructions to the letter and still have the same problem, however I notice that when i installed jdk1.5 I also copied some libraries I needed in the JAVA_HOME\jre\lib\ext this files are jdts1.1 and log4j 1.2.12. I erase them from the path and every thing seems to be working perfectly now. Could you please replicate this to see if you have the same problems I experience?
Again tanks

Riyad KallaMemberTanx,
Our plugins make heavy use of logging libraries, all different versions unfortunately (as some were originally born as open source projects), what was happening is your newer copy of log4j was getting picked up, and when the plugin was attempting to write write a log entry or check for the logging status, it was throwing exceptions pertaining to MethodNotFound and the like. Putting classes in your \lib\ext dir is always a risky business, while it seems easy up front, you can pay down the road with hair-ripping experiences like this.October 31, 2005 at 7:22 am #240481
MaxMemberTank you very much, i’ll have that in mind next time 😯
