Im going through the struts tutorial (using MyEclipse 4.1 for Eclipse 3.1): I create the web project and add struts 1.1 support. OK. Then I double-click on struts-config.xml to edit it in the gaphical struts layout editor.. insted an xml editor opens that does not have the ‘design’ / ‘source’ tabs on the bottom lef.. it is just a plain xml editor. I have found nothing in the context menu for the struts config file that will let me open it in your graphical layout editor.
On the off chance that I have a corrupt installation I am re-downloading and reinstalling… but if anyone can see where I went wrong, or know of a way to force the graphical layout editor to appear, please let me know.

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike & Dusihai,
Make sure you that you have added Struts capabilities to your project, if you have, then just close your struts-config.xml file, and right click on it and go to Open With then select “MyEclipse Struts Designer” or Struts Config editor, the exact name slips my mind, but it’s got the blue gear next to it.

Problem is fixed. I uninstalled all plugins (including Exadel Struts Studio & MyEclipse), then reinstalled Eclipse and MyEclipse (I did NOT reinstall Exadel Struts). Now the struts tutorial works fine.. The ‘struts-editor’ option is visible from the context menu of the struts-config.sys file (I swear it was not there before I reinstalled everything.. so this is ‘weird’.).

Does MyEclipse not work properly with some other plugins, like say, Exadel Struts Studio Pro?

    Mike,
Glad to hear it’s working now and yes, some competing plugins like Exadel and NitroX can conflict with eachother. It’s best to test these products separately and see which one you like the most then go with that one. Not to say that an install of both cannot be messaged to work, you just might run into more issues than you would otherwise like. The fundamental reason for that is these products are compete for the same user base, so there is some overlap in functionality and it’s hard to tell sometimes which product is doing what and which editors have what associations with eachother.
