How do I get the syntax highlighting turned on in the xml text editor. This used to be available in prior versions of MyEclipse. Now, when I right-click on an xml file and select text editor, all I get is something that looks like notepad. Is there something I have to configure?

    Strummer,

If you open the file in the text editor, you will get no highlighting at all; what you’re doing is the eclipse equivalent of opening an XML file in notepad.
If you double click an xml file, it should open in our XML editor by default, if it does not, right click and choose Open With > MyEclipse XML Editor, sytax highlighting, folding and autocompletion should all be available.

What is the extension of the file you are trying to open? “xml” or something else?

    Best,
    Brian.

I probably didn’t do a very good job explaining…that said, I am a bit embarrased. After reading your response, I went back to the editor and found the “Source” tab at the bottom of the XML editor window(everything had been showing up in Design mode). This gives me the view I was asking about. I can’t believe I missed that. My apologies for not being a bit more thorough. Thanks.

    Strummer,
No problem, that’s what support is for 🙂
    Brian.
