Ok, so this is so basic I can’t believe it. I am trying to install the latest MyEclipse on RedHat 9. I installed JDK15. and ANT. I went to the Eclipse site and when I downloaded and unpacked the Eclipse-SDK3.1.1-linux.gtk.tar.gz all that was under it was the plug-in directory. So I go and try to find the JDT archive but no matter how or how many times I download and unzip it, there are no files in there.
Is there a better way to get MyEclipse (aka, bundled with Eclipse) for Linux? This seems so much more difficult than when I installed on OS X and Winblows.

I bet your download is corrupt, how big is the SDK file? It should be about 110mb or so and have dirs (configuration/features/plugins/readme) and about 8 files.

Not yet, we have been looking into doing a preinstalled release for a while, but since it would be close to 300mb we held off until we could stream line it’s delivery a bit.
so there should only be one eclipse download for Linux right? If I unzip that, there will be bin directories etc? That is where I install the myEclipse download as well?

No, there are a few, but you are probably safe just grabbing this one:

There is no bin directory, the eclipse executable is in the root of the unzipped ‘eclipse’ dir.
That is where I install the myEclipse download as well?
No, MyEclipse must be installed/unzipped to a totally different location. If you use the installer it will hook MyEclipse into your Eclipse install as an extension, if you are doing the installation manually, the steps are covered in the Manual Install instructions.
