    Folks,

I just upgraded to Eclipse 3.1.1 and MyEclipse 4.0.3. I was running Eclipse 3.0.1 and MyEclipse 3.8.4.

When I start up Eclipse/MyEclipse I get the following informational message in the error log:

    “Unable to locate .myeclipse.properties file”

Do I need perform some step to finish the upgrade?

    Thanks,
    Keith

No, your installation is ok. In MyEclipse 4.0GA and later versions, we now store your subscription information in a external properites file. So now if you have multiple instances of MyEclipse you don’t have to enter redundent subscription information in for each copy. They all look at this global location. However, the migration to the new file isn’t automatic. Once you update your new installation with your subscription information, this file will be created and you will no longer see this message.

So if you are evaluating the 30-day license, how do you get around this problem? I see the same message in my eclipse workspace .log file. I get it when I try to start my Weblogic 8 Application Server…? Are you saying I can’t do this with the evaluation license and I have to purchase just to see the integration?

No, this message is just informational. It doesn’t mean anything if you are in an evaluation period. If you are evaluating MyEclipse and within the 30-day trial, you can safely ignore this message.

Alright Thanks. I guess I have some other problem – I’ll post a new topic or search for the solution.
