    Hi,

When I start the websphere application server from myeclipse, it pops up a messagebox with the message :could not create the java virtual machine and on clicking Ok another messagebox with the message: A configuration error has occured, please verify the preference field with the prompt Unrecognized option: -Xquickstart. I am using jdk1.4.2_06 version and websphere 6 version. I also set the jdk in the preferences to jdk1.4.2_06 home (full installation). I don’t see -Xquickstart anywhere. what’s wrong with my JVM?

Any help regarding this issue is highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Navigate to your Window > Prefs > MyEclipse > App Servers > WebSphere 6 connector, list off all your settings for me especially the bottom ttwo (option program args and optional shutdown args)

Then go to your JDK settings, and tell mt he name of the JDK you have setup and also any Optional VM args you have there. Remember the name of the JDK you had setup in that dropdown box and now navigate to your Java > Installed JREs preferences, find your JDK you setup, select it, hit EDIT, then tell me if you have any paremeters in your “Default VM Arguments” box.

Thanks for your response. I got it working. The reason it didn’t work was I pointed to the JDK1.4 version that I had installed. After I pointed it to the jdk that comes with websphere installation, it works fine.

    Thanks..
