zendoggyMemberDownloaded the 8.0 all-in-one from the web site and installed. Bring up myeclipse 8.0, open workspace – no code assist with ctl-space or on ‘.’. Close version 8, open version 7.5 and code assist works fine. I have looked at the Java > Editor > Content Assist > Favorites in both version and the seem the same. I am running windows xp.
Any help appreciatedDecember 3, 2009 at 12:39 pm #304365
mfkilgoreMemberContent assist was working after the initial install, but has recently just stopped working for me too. The setting all look correct. I am running on Windows 7.

support-joyMemberzendoggy, mfkilgore,
I am not able to replicate this issue. Can you answer few queries for me to narrow down the root cause?
1. Copy and paste your installation details. Open MyEclipse IDE from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. Can you elaborate this problem in detail – steps to reproduce. For e.g. the type of project, is it a newly created project or already existing one?
3. Can you please email a sample project to support@genuitec.com, which will help me replicate this issue at my end. Please include a reference to this thread, this will help in quick tracing and include ATTN:Joy in the subject
4. Can you add screenshots which will help me get a visual.
5. Do you see any issues reported in the problems tab? If yes, can you copy and paste them here
6. Also look for relevant issues logged in your error log file located here <your workspace dir>/.metadata/.log. If you find any, copy and paste them here.
Can you try the following – open MyEclipse IDE using -clean command line argument. Please refer https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshoot-using-the-clean-command-line-argument/
Go to window > Preferences and click on [Restore Defaults] and let me know if it works for you?December 4, 2009 at 12:50 pm #304426I had the same problem after migrating my 7.x workspace to 8. Problem solved by going to Java Editor preferences (Preferences/Java/Editor/Content Assist/Advanced) and enable the Java Proposals in the ‘default’ list. For some reason, it was turned off, although I didn’t do it (I swear).

mfkilgoreMemberI can confirm the fix above for some reason the Java Proposals in the default list was not checked off. Turning it on again resolved the problem. Any ideas how this option was changed without my taking any action?
thanks,

zendoggyMembergregquirk’s post solved my problem. Under 7.5 Preferences/Java/Editor/Content Assist/Advanced is enabled under 8.0 it was not. I checked the boxes and it works. Thanks all

support-joyMembergregquirk,
Thank you for posting your resolution.
mfkilgore,
I am not sure what caused this. Can you open pulse2.properties file, it is located in your [MyEclipse installation dir]/common, you should look for – \Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties and copy and paste your pulse.handshake.id here, this will help me do a look up into our server logs for logged errors.
zendoggy,
Good to hear you are all set.
