This has gotta be an FAQ, but I can’t find it. With Tomcat4 (and MyEclipse 4.1), when I create a new web application, is there some way to have MyEclipse create and deploy the necessary context file for the web app, or have MyEclipse insert the corresponding <context>…</context> content into Tomcat’s server.xml file? Or is this something that has to be done manually?

You need to do it manually, although there is documentation saying you can place a “context.xml” file with your context definition in it, in the META-INF directory of your web project and Tomcat will honor it, although myself along with many users in this forums have completely random success with this feature.
