Hi, we are using copilot4eclipse. Eclipse has JDK17 but the main system we are deployng is JDK1.8
Is is possible to configure copilot4Eclipse to give suggestions on jdk1.8? Can we do any configuration on the plugin for the jdk version?
Or could you please offer any other solution?
    Thanks

    Hi,

At this time the Copilot4Eclipse uses Java 17 and Eclipse 2023-06 (4.28.0) specific apis. We can consider a backport but would need to know the specific version of Eclipse the Copilot4Eclipse plugin would need to operate on. To discuss further you can send details to info@genuitec.com.

    Regards,

Apologies for my OT response. I goofed reading the details before my 1st cup of coffee.
To your question my colleague and I were discussing this earlier today. Presently we are not aware of a technique to constrain GitHub Copilot to generate suggestions compatible for a specific Java version. We have a couple of ideas that we hope to test out in the next few days. We will post any successes we have and additional suggestions as we learn more.

Again apologies for my initial goof response.
