I am using SuSE 10.0, and get the message “Could not launch the external web browser”. I can launch Firefox from the shell with /opt/MozillaFirefox/bin/firefox.sh and have entered this for the location in the “Edit Installed Web Browser” dialog, all to no avail. I am doing this as a user (have not tried as root).

it should help you setup the environment variables appropriately.
