I created userLoginSuccess.jsp under /jsp of the project folder.
This dir should have been under your WebRoot, like ProjectName/WebRoot/jsp/userLoginSuccess.jsp, are you saying you created it under ProjectName/jsp/userLoginSuccess.jsp? If you did, it won’t go out with the deployment which will be a problem.
The wizard gave me a warning of non-existing folder of /jsp, and created the JSP block in the struts-config.xml design view. Question #1: Why IDE won’t create the /jsp for me?
The wizard won’t let you continue if the directory doesn’t exist, the Finish button is disabled. Which wizard were you running? I just tried this with the New JSP wizard from the toolbar on the left, and the Finish button is disabled if the directory doesn’t exist.
I then created the /jsp outside of the IDE and right-click the project and refreshed it so I can see the /jsp folder in the Package Explorer as suggested by Riyad, BUT THE IDE STILL DID NOT CREATE THE JSP IN THE /JSP FOLDER. When I double-clicked userLoginSuccess.jsp block, it said that the jsp does not exist.
I just tried this. I opened an explorer window, went to my project dir, created a JSP directory, went back to my project and refreshed it. Then I opened the new JSP wizard and created the file under TestProject/jsp and named it MyJsp.jsp, I was warned that the file would not be included in the deployment but it *was* created.
Question #2: How can I make the IDE create the .jsp file in the /jsp folder for me?
As long as you can see the jsp dir in Eclipse, you can create a file in it. If the wizard is giving you trouble, copy and paste the result of MyEclipse > About > Configuration SUmmary for me (NOT the one from Help > About, it’s too long).
