Would like to check if MyEclipse supports importing custom JSF component library for web application development, that is not an import into config file, but as a standard component to be utilized on development.

I could not find the related information in the latest IDE version … wanna see if there is any “work-around” at the moment and any planning for this feature in the coming release. Besides, when will the next release (4.1) be ready?

In short, this is the feature that I am talking about fyr …

    Thanks!

    ccliauw,
I believe what you are asking for is not supported yet, but we are aware of the demand. I will ask one of the developers from the JSF team to comment though.

Currently there isn’t way to extend the support for the component visually. We do have features planned in this area. However, from a source standpoint, you can add new custom tags to the Snippets view, which would all you to drag and drop components into the JSP editor or designer.

    Thanks Greg and rkalla.
“add new custom tags to the Snippets view” … may I know more details about this ?? Do you mean there is a manual way to do the alike thing in MyEclipse through source code handling ?

Actually, our objective is to allow UI developers building JSP through components “drag and drop”, so that they don’t need to bother for the logic inside those components, while just simply focus on the look and feel design.

Besides, would like to know when would this feature be planned to launch. Thanks a lot.

I think this feature will be a big winner for that IDE that first delivers it in an “user-company”-friendly manner (meaning relatively simple to do by a company that uses that IDE…).
