The tutorials on this site and those referenced use deprecated code, older versions of MyEclipse, and have incomplete source code. The links indicated on the tutorials are broken, as well.
Any suggestions for Struts?
The Struts Development Demo, and the Struts Tutorial Series both are using an earlier version of the platform, hence the setup and wizard use is different. When using these Demos/Turtorials I frequently get “page not available” errors when I try to read the topic details. This was as of 7/12/06.
The LaLiluna Struts examples are great for movement through MyEclipse to build Struts projects. The source code does have some catches that can look like servlet issues. Here I am refering to the Long id=parseLong(request.getParameter(“id”)) that is never going to catch a null. This is right up front in the Basic Struts Tutorial.
Since, I was using the tutorials to follow setup and understand flow these little things when piled up together make it tough for a newbie.
