Hi!
i am having problems with deployment on ias10g. I did the following:
Merged old web project with my new classes and jsps as new myeclipse project then deployed with externally launched to war file.
When i try deploying that file under ias it says:
root cause: deploy failed! nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: unknown assembly root-tag attribute: version.Is that a problem with the web.xml maybe?

It could be, double check if IAS 10g supports J2EE 1.4, if it does not, then you will need to replace your web.xml file (which is by default J2EE 1.4 spec) with a 1.3 compatiable web.xml file. The difference is that the 2.4 web.xml file uses a Schema and it’s format is a little different, for a 1.3 web.xml file it uses a DTD.
You can cheat and quickly create one by going to File > New > Project > Web Project > “J2EE 1.3 Spec” and hit OK. Now edit the web.xml file to include all the info from your other one and copy it into your project. Additionally you will need to switch to the navigator view (Window > Show View > Navigator) and open up your .mymetadata file and change the J2EE spec for 1.4 to 1.3 and save the file. Then close the project, restart MyEcloipse and reopen the project.
