I install ME 7.5 using the all-in-one installer and have tried to disable ‘features’ which I don’t use, as I am trying to speed up the load time for the IDE.

Using the menu sequence Windows -> Preferences -> General -> Capabilities and clicking on the Advanced button, I scroll down to the “MyEclipse Professional Tools” and un-check the options for Extended MySQL and Oracle Database support and Screen Capture. Hit OK then Apply. It appears to take as I see the toolbar icon for the screen capture disappear from the current toolbar.

But, as soon as I exit and reload ME, those features are re-enabled. How to I permanently disable those features I don’t want or need?

I just downloaded and installed ME8 … problem still exists. Even with removing never used components (and these items that keep enabling themselves), my start-up time seems excessive.

Edit: I tried the All In One installer and the Eclipse archive installation … both exhibit same problems.

The fix is targeted for 8.5. As a work around for now, you can make use of the LIte modules by uninstalling what you don’t want to use.
