I have created an ipad app using MobiOne that I would like to distribute to customers. I tested it out on an internal iPad and it worked perfectly, but when we tried to test it out on a customer’s ipad it wouldn’t let him fully install it. I was wondering how I might be able to fix this problem and allow me to successfully distribute my app to customers and have it work and install correctly?

Would I need to get a MobiOne license for all the people who would be using it, create a new certificate, or anything else along those lines?

    Thank you for your help,
    Conor

    Hi Conor

Unfortunately it doesn’t quite work that way with Apple, you can’t just distribute your apps directly to your clients, so to speak. The reason your client can’t install your app is that his device is not registered on the provisioning profile you used to build your app.

    see http://www.genuitec.com/mobile/docs/appledigitalsignature/appledigitalsignature.html

The 2 methods for distribution of IOS apps is adhoc for testing or distributing up to 100 devices, these devices must be added to the profile. Or the distribution method for upload to the app store.

    Hope that helps

    Paul
