In another thread it was mentioned that you can create a local WAR file by using File>Export>…

I’d like to be able to create a local WAR file and then use Ant’s scp task to put it on a remote server. Is there any way to cause a WAR file to be created from ant?

Is there a simpler way to do the top level task that I’m missing?

You can use the <war> Ant task to create a WAR file, as far as controlling ME from Ant, no it cannot be done.
