I am evaluating a trial version of mobiOne and find it very impressive in certain areas. The Map and media are really impressive. One can very easily display a location using the map however:

1) is there a geolocation feature in mobiOne where it can pick up your current location
2) is there a driving directions feature which uses the current location and the destination to map the directions.

The Mobione map widget provides access to the google map api. This gives you control to place as many markers and routes and whatever… see the dev guide for examples: http://www.genuitec.com/mobile/docs/usingMaps/usingMaps.html

Thanks that helped a lot. However the problem with the driving directions still exists. It does draw a connection but when I tried it with a couple of addresses it didn’t follow a route or a road. It just connected the two. What I am looking for is a proper driving directions following roads defined in the map. Please advise.

Hi khurram,

The Map widget is implemented on top of the google maps javascript api. In the map dev guide we tried to cover basic map features. Once you cross into directions or regional searching then the use-cases become more complicated and custom. By using the google maps api you can use google’s tutorials and examples available from the internet such as stackoverflow and other good resources.
