    Hi,

I have tried to install the 7.5 workbench on a fresh install of the eclipse classic 3.4.2 platform. Regardless of how I try, I run into errors all the time. The current error is:

Cannot complete the request. See the details.
    Unsatisfied dependency: [com.genuitec.myeclipse.matisse.feature.group 7.5.0.zmyeclipse75020090612] requiredCapability: org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu/com.genuitec.eclipse.dehory/[7.5.0.zmyeclipse75020090612,7.5.0.zmyeclipse75020090612]

I am trying to do this via the update site and do not want to use the all in one install, because I cannot get any plugins working on the all in one.

Also I have tried the same thing on a Ubuntu Linux installation, and there it works perfectly. I have had alot of issues with the Mac OS X versions….

How can I get this to install?

    Regards,

    Andréas

    Andréas,

There are 2 ways to fix this issue –
    A. User pulse for quick fix.
    1. Open pulse-explorer.exe manually. If you don’t have the same, please download from http://www.poweredbypulse.com.
    2. Login anonymously.
    3. From the explorer page, expand “My Profiles”. This should list “MyEclipse 7.5”
    4. Right click on “MyEclipse 7.5” and from the context menu click on [Re-insall and run]
Pulse will automatically resolve any dependency issues.

    B. Download manual installer
Download the manual installer from the MyEclipse download page. It’s listed as option #5. This is simply Eclipse 3.4.2 with MyEclipse installed off an archived update site that is included in the download. Simply unzip it and run ‘eclipse.exe’ and you’re done. (The same as you are trying to do, only it is pre-packaged for you)

    Hi,

Thanks for trying, but no. First of all, the pulse explorer only installs the exact same thing that the all in one install does, and that is not what I am looking for. The problem is I am not able to start any plugins in that kind of environment.

Second of all as I said, this is a Mac OS X computer, not a windows based computer. I can’t use eclipse.exe versions.

The reason I asked you to use pulse to fix is – it will not alter anything in your all-in-one installer but fix the above dependency. Pulse will not re-download MyEclipse but look for missing resources and add to your MyEclipse profile. Have you given this a try?

    Hi Joy,

I did give it a try, the problem was with the pulse installer I wasn’t able to find anything in the “My profile” under anonymous login. What I then did was I installed the MyEclipse 7.5 workbench from the profiles section, which then downloaded and installed the MyEclipse all in one install. So that didn’t work for me unfortunately.

Eventually I tried to install all of the components of MyEclipse one by one, which worked for all of the components except the Swing graphical component. So now I have the workbench installed partially. Really enough for my needs, however, it would be nice if the system installed correctly via the update site.

    Andréas,

I have rechecked the update site works fine at my end. I am not sure what is causing the block at your end.
It is good to hear that you have currently a profile of MyEclipse which is working for you.
Just for curiosities sake, can you copy and paste pulse.handshake.id from pulse2.properties file? You can try in this path ~\Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties (Mac path may be different)
This will help me do a quick check on our server logs for any logged errors.
