I am using eclipse 3.1 with Myeclipse 4.0. When ever some text is selected, the editor hangs and i have to restart eclipse.
I have lot of jar files in the build path. Is that what is causing the problem?– System Setup ——————————-

I’d suggest as a first course of action that you upgrade your install to MyEclipse 4.0.3 to see if that resolves the issue. Instructions on how to do that easily through the update manager are available here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2+file-viewtopic-t-9793.html
We made a lot of fixes / speed enhancements in the update builds so its likely that this might fix it. After you perform the update, before you retest be sure restart eclipse with the -clean option (eclipse.exe -clean) one time to rebuild the plugin cache as a preventative measure. Then retest and see how it works then.
