Has anyone else seen this? I’m running XPSP2 with Eclipse 3.1.1 and MyEclipse 4.0.2.

I’ll run the update manager with Help | Software Updates | Find and Install and during the install all access to the net from my computer will basically shut down. It’s like all available net connections are being eaten up and the stack is locking.

Anyone else seen this behavior? Any way to throttle the number of outbound connections that Eclipse can use?

    Dave,

I don’t know of a throttle, but you’re correct in that it appears that Eclipse’s update manager is very agressive when requesting connections to an update server. We’ve seen it many times on the ‘receiving’ end of the updates on our servers. However, it might not be that the number of connections is the issue, only that Eclipse is downloading several things at once and saturating all your available bandwidth. However, I don’t know how to adjust that.
