I am also trying to embed a YouTube video without success..
I have programmed many Android APP’s without any problems.

Question: If I post an video with an MP4 format on my website server,
would that stream “within” the video player?

Yes it should work. We have tested with embedded mp4 videos and streamed mp4 videos that are downloaded from our App Center services (Google appengine) and from traditional apache servers.
