I want to use the new Visual Editor project from the Eclipse foundation, but it requires EMF build 2.0.1 & GEF Build 3.0.1 which are upgrades over the current MyEclipse install I have [3.8.1 with hot fixes]. Can I do this or is this already included in 3.8.2? If I can do it, how do I go about doing so and not disrupting the MyEclipse install?

FWIW: Yesterday I installed Eclipse 3.0.1, EMF 2.0.1, and MyEclipse 3.8.2. It all went smoothly, no problems, all it well (so far).

Where did you install EMF 2.0.1 as the MyEclipse install has its own version that gets loaded?

    difranr,
Installing both should work fine, we made some changes to plugin names back to their original versions so no conflicts should occur. 2 of our QA members use VE and were the ones that brought it to our attention, they said the new version works fine.

Again though, where should I install it? In the MyEclipse directory or the eclipse? Which one takes precedence?

If you are installing VE and you are asking about that, then put it in the Eclipse dir… always leave MyEclipse dirs in their original format (unless you are applying a patch from us).
