Any insight available for always getting a 403 error with the StrutsLoginDemo tutorial app deployed to a Weblogic 8.1 server ? It is not received when deployed to Tomcat 5.5.

Am using a simple domain created with the WLS configuration wizard. The tutorial deployment is clean with no WLS exceptions or errors in the log. And no log errors after accessing the page. Other use of the WLS domain also works fine with apps deployed from Bea Workshop or manually.

Although this seems like a simple security configuration issue, something is getting lost, misconfigured. I’ve not been able to find much talk about such an issue here or the web. Although I’m brand new to MyEclipse, the WLS integration seems excellent.

Turns out that the URL created for the application testing tab within the WLS console is incomplete (actually the weblogic specific config files that provide this do not appear to be created and deployed by MyEclipse). Providing a deployment capability set my expectations that all aspects of a particular server’s deployment requirements would be covered.

So to be successful with the StrutsLoginDemo on Weblogic 8.1, use the URL in the tutorial, not the URL created for the WLS console.
