    Vinod,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you answer some more questions for us ?

    1. What exact software or plugin are you trying to update ?

    2. Did you install any third party plugins? If yes then please list them.

    3. As a quick fix, can you please download the offline installer once again, install MyEclipse to a different location and check if you still see the issue ?

The offline installer can be downloaded from : https://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download&version=ME

    4. If the issue still exists, please copy paste the entire contents of the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log to help us investigate further.

Let us know how it works for you.

    Hi,

The error alert comes even before I start updating/adding the plugin(Just after I click on Find and Install). So it really should not matter which plugin I am intending to add.
I have not installed any third party plugins. As I mentioned earlier, I have installed the MyEclipse a day ago and wanted to add plugin for SVN. Before I add the SVN plugin I encountered this issue.

    Thanks
    Vinod

    Hi,
In addition to my response I sent in my previous post, I installed MyEclipse in new location. I enabled the Classic Update under Window–>Preferences–>General–>Capabilities so that I see the Software Update under Help pull down Menu. I still encounter the same issue when I click on Find & Install. I have attached the contents of .log from my workspace.

    Thanks
    VP

    Vinod,

1.You can install and update the plugins from the MyEclipse Configuration Center.

2.To add SVN plugin you can follow these steps: –

    1. Open MyEclipse IDE, click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center.
    2. Choose the Software tab.
    3. Choose the relevant plugin from “Quick-Add Popular Plug-ins”
    a. Subclipse 1.4.x (w/related)
    b. Subclipse 1.6.x (w/related)
    c. Subversive Plug-in (w/related)
    4. Right click on the same and click on [add to profile].
    5. Select the software to be installed and click on [OK]
    6. Click on [Apply x changes] button under *Pending Changes* and follow the wizard till completion
    7. When prompted, choose to restart the IDE

3.Can you please let us know why you are using the Classic Update as it is disabled by default in MyEclipse ?

    Swapna,

    1. When I go to MyEclipse Configuration Center I am getting alert as attached with this response. I dont know which credentials is it expecting.

    2. I am aware of the procedure you have mentioned your second point, I have tried it before and could not proceed because of issue mentioned in point #1 above and I need subclipse version 1.8 which is not in the list under Popular Plugins.

    3. I am using classic updates because I did not find the subclipse plugin 1.8 in the Popular plugins (as mentioned in point 2 above). Your documentation mentions that if we cannot find in youtr configuration cenyter then we need to enable the classic update and update the required plugin.

Could you please address the core issue I have raised ASAP?

    Thanks
    Vinod
