I have just entered into the subscription for myeclipse. and soon after that i ran into problems .

MyEclipse is not working now. giving me an error saying “Structured Builder java.lang.NoClassDefFoundErro: com/genuitec/eclipse/easie/core/IAppServer”

After subscription i installed new version 3.8.4 and after that it stopped running. it gives me above mentioned error whenever i start myeclipse and when try to run tomcat 5.5 server on my machine from mueclipse it tells me to checj tomcat JDK Home it is set to 1.5 JDK which is required with TOMCAT 5.5.

I would appreciate if anybody can show me a way out of this

    Karan,
Let’s so some sanity checks first:

    1) Shut down MyEclispe and follow this FAQ entry for restarting with -clean: http://www.myeclipseide.com/FAQ+index-myfaq-yes-id_cat-30.html#343
    2) Shut down MyEclipse if it is running, go to your <workspace dir>\.metadata directory and erase your .log file
    3) Start up MyEclipse, try and run Tomcat and let the error popup (assuming it isn’t fixed by now) and then go open your .log file (the one you deleted before)
    4) Paste the exception that occured here for me to look at.

Also let me know what version of Eclipse you are using (Help > About).

    Thanks Riyad

I have fixed it already. I uninstalled the Myeclipse and reinstall it. It is working good now.

I think the problem was that since was running a free trial version of myEclipse ( probably 3.8.2 dont remember though ). and after i got into subscription i installed 3.8.4 over the existing one. And i think it was colliding with the existing ones.

So unistalled and re-installation worked as with many other softwares.

    Thanks again for the reply

Nice catch, I’m glad it’s working.
