I am having difficulty with accessing urls outside my company’s lan. If I click on, for example, the Google button on the Home screen I get an Error Code 105 – Name not resolved error.

I am on Win7/64 and I have added MobiOne to my Firewall rules.

I have tried re-installing 1.4.1 having previously upgraded from 1.3.2 and there was no improvement.

This is very frustrating as it means that I cannot use included javascript like google maps as the files won’t load.

    Thank you,
    Neil

My first thought is a proxy is blocking internet accecss.

Q1: If you have Chrome browser installed, can it access internet. The Test Center uses an internal variation of the Chrome webkit engine.

If you know your company has a proxy in place, try manually configuring MobiOne’s internet proxy settings.

Yes Chrome works perfectly through the proxy on my machine. I assume there is some sort of redirection going on inside MobiOne Test Centre but since all I see is the error I can’t tell what is happening to the URL as it is being processed. Is there some sort of debug log I can look at to see where it is failing?

I have tried disabling the internal web server and tried my company’s website which has universal access through our proxy and neither worked.

I love your product and I have paid for the license but this is a real barrier to my company, Kmart Australia, adopting MobiOne as our standard.

Thanks for the info about Chrome success. This leads me to suspect there is corporate proxy blocking access to the internet. Please try configuring the MobiOne proxy settings manually? Check the internet settings on your corporate browser for proxy options. If none, then WPAD and PAC are probably in use by your site to auto-configure your browsers. If that is the case you ask your admin for the manual settings. I will confer with our network guy on if there are other config actions to consider tomorrow.

I have configured the proxy manually but as it is shared between IE and Chrome as well as MobiOne there is little joy in this as, as I have said, it works perfectly with Chrome (and IE).

Since the error seems to be about the URL being somehow mangled and not valid I may be able to try a network sniffer to see what is actually being requested but as I said it would be nice if MobiOne test centre could show me what it is doing.

    Thanks for your help,
    Neil
