    Hi,

I am using latest version of MyEclipse 4.0M2 and Eclipse 3.1. As a source control I am connected to Subversion using Subclipse plugin.

I have an application that has a huge web module and deploying it to Weblogic 8.1 SP4

My problem is related to deployment time consumption:
Lot of SVN related files are being copied to Weblogic Working directory and it takes a considerable time while deploying and re-deploying.

Can i possibly do some setting to instruct MyEclipse Deployer to ignore all the files under .SVN folder and its related files.

    Please let me know.

    Regards,
    -Binoy

    Binoy,
The problem is that the SVN plugin doesn’t properly set the resources as derived, which is what the CVS plugin does, so the deployed doesn’t have any way to know that those items are not to be deployed. You can set derived yourself (if there are dirs like CVS does) but if there are just too many resources than unfortuately at this time there is no workaround from MyEclipse, the fix needs to come from the svn plugin folks.

    Thanks Riyad,

I’ll catch up with the SVN Team for their feedback on the same.

Please let us know what they say, I’d hate it to be the situation where we point the finger at them, and them at us and neither side get anything done =)

The SVN files should not be marked as derived. Derived files are things like .class files which are derived from .java source. I would hope that their deployer does not exclude derived files!

The SVN files are identified as team private files, I do not remember the exact term. That is why Eclipse itself does not show the .svn folders in the Navigator and other views.
