I love the database explorer. Anyway, is there a way to execute a SQL query from the database explorer, as a background process, rather than having to wait for the query to finish before control of my workspace is returned?

It is not possible to run the SQL query as a background process as the moment but this has already been added as a feature request. Ill get back to you with an update on this as soon as possible.
