I am trying to install an external plugin (EMF 2.0.1) into the eclipse environment that is running MyEclipseIDE 3.8.4, in this case version 3.0.1 of Eclipse. I extracted the plugin to the eclipse installation and verified they were installed to the right location(s). When I restart MyEclipseIDE I do not see the view or perspectives for this plugin. I would have thought that a restart would have made the features for this plugin available but it doesn’t.

Has anyone installed the EMF 2.0.1.x plugin into the MyEclipseIDE/Eclipse framework successfully and been able to select the views/perspectives that come with the tool? I installed the entire SDK for EMF.

    TIA,
    J.D.

    JD,
Are you saying that EMF’s views and perspectives aren’t there or MyEclipse’s views and perspectives have disappeared since you installed EMF?

No. I just expected there to be views and perspectives for the EMF plugin but didn’t see any. There are EMF wizards that are part of the installation and I can see those. The core MyEclipseIDE functionality appears to work fine after installing the EMF 2.0.1 plugin.

I believe it is just the Wizards, because other users asking for us to ship the full EMF “miss the wizards”.

Yeah, I think you are right. I’m not super familiar with this plugin. I should have investigated what it provided before submitting this issue. Thanks for the quick response.
