Chris BrownMemberAfter installing the latest version of MyEclipse (10.7) I am now unable to install plug-ins. I press the “Apply 1 change” button and nothing happens. I previously had MyEclipse 8.6 installed.

support-pradeepMemberkillerardvark,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
1) Can you please share the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ?
2) Are you behind a firewall/proxy? If yes then please set proxy settings here from MyEclipse menu click on Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections.
3) Can you please clarify what exactly happens after clicking on “Apply changes” ? Does it open a window / popup or anything else ?
4) Clear the contents of the .log file located at [workspace]/.metadata/.log file, replicate the issue and attach the .log file here to help us investigate further.
5) Can you please share the details of plugins/software you are trying to add to MyEclipse ?
6) Can you please attach the screenshot of MyEclipse configuration center > Software to help us visualise the issue ?Please take a look at this tutorial on how to add plugins in different ways :

Chris BrownMemberanswer to question 2: I have already set up the proxy settings the same way i have in previous versions and my regular eclipse install.
answer to question 3: when i press “Apply Changes” the words “Apply Changes” in the upper right flicker to something then back. The “Install State” goes to “Updating…”. and nothing else happens, even after letting it go and going to get a cup of coffee.

support-pradeepMemberkillerardvark,
From your screenshot it is observed that you are unable to connect to http://www.myeclipseide.com server. (Please check on the right hand side of the screenshot under Tips and Tricks / In the news section)
Please ensure you allow http://www.myeclipseide.com, http://www.poweredbypulse.com and http://www.genuitec.com through your firewall. And also please check you proxy settings as I mentioned in my earlier response.
Alternatively, please try installing plugins using Help > Eclipse Marketplace.
Also you can install plugins using the archived update site. Please take a look at this tutorial on how to add plugins using dropins folder mechanism – http://www.genuitec.com/blog/?p=1628#dropins
Let us know how it works for you.

Chris BrownMemberI was able to get the plugins to install via the Eclipse Marketplace if i clear my SOCKS proxy settings. When myeclipse relaunches it asks for a username and password for SOCKS and if i put it in then the Eclipse Marketplace throws an exception (and frankly not a pretty one). Clear the SOCKS proxy settings and it’s happy again.
So, workaround found, but it would still be nice to resolve the issue completely. I’m working with my IT person to determine if our firewall is really blocking it. I find it strange that with the same settings, Eclipse and the Eclipse Marketplace have no problem getting through.

support-pradeepMemberkillerardvark,
Please contact your network administrator regarding your firewall / proxy settings in MyEclipse.
If you are still seeing any issues, can you please install MyEclipse (10.7.1) to another location and check whether you can install plugins ? Open MyEclipse 10.7.1 installer file, it will list you 4 options, you could choose to repair, create another copy of MyEclipse or re-install. I would recommend you to choose create another copy of myeclipse and follow the wizard till completion.
