Hello

I can’t start Tomcat5 from MyEclipse on Linux. I think that parameters (Path and JDK in Preferences for Tomcat ) are correct.

I’ve got

Bootstrap: Class loader creation threw exception
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/logging/LogFactory
at org.apache.tomcat.util.compat.JdkCompat.<clinit>(JdkCompat.java:55)
at org.apache.catalina.startup.ClassLoaderFactory.<clinit>(ClassLoaderFactory.java:63)
at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.initClassLoaders(Bootstrap.java:103)
at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.init(Bootstrap.java:196)
at org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap.main(Bootstrap.java:402)

Any idea?

Adam,

We’ve got a detailed tutorial that walks you through an example web application on Tomcat in our Documentation section here. I think walking through it should allow you to figure out what’s wrong. If it doesn’t, can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can look a bit deeper.
