I have a form used to capture data for a local database on the iPad. As I use the ‘next’ button associated with the virtual keyboard to navigate from field to field, the fields and panel jump all over causing the user to not know where or what field they are entering data for. Is there a resolution for this issue? Thank you in advance.

What version of ipad (1,2,3) and what version of iOS (4.3, 5.x, 6…) are you testing with?

One iPad is version 3 with IOS 6. Another is version 1 with IOS 5.

Found possible solution. With my main data entry form with the ‘jumping around’ issue, I have removed all the auto-resizing options for that panel. This seems to have resolved this issue with version 3 iPad on IOS 6. However, 1st gen iPad on IOS 5 does not automatically move the panel/form up as you hit the ‘next’ button on the virtual keyboard preventing the user from seeing the data entry fields.

Thanks for the feedback regarding ios6. I have been testing forms and they work much better on ios6 than prev versions. Maybe consider disabling the vertical scroller on any panels that contain form controls. This is has been a general pain across most html5 mobile web frameworks. We continue to look for ways to improve it As you have seen much of the issue is at the os/browser level as iOS and android improve this with each release.
