I’m confused… I read on one of your pages that MyEclipse workbench is free, but you need a subscription in order to get support.

The only tool I use in MyEclipse is the Snippet tool.. which doesn’t exist anywhere else as an addon for Eclipse. I wouldn’t want to pay $30 a year just to use a small snippet tool…. can some elaborate on the license for myeclipse? Thanks.

EDIT: It was in the FAQ

Why should I upgrade my membership?

Subscribing (or upgrading your membership) will guarantee your continued access for 12 months to the MyEclipse portal and all the rights and privileges that come with it. Keep in mind that the Enterprise Workbench, future productivity packs, and online support are free of charge– but you must subscribe to the portal to have access to all future releases, updates, and online support

    Artnez,
This answer is worded somewhat poorly, and conveniently enough we are in the process of re-writing the FAQs, so we can correct this. The idea is that every year you pay $30 for a subscription to MyEclipse, and during that time you get all updates and support for free. If you let the subscription expire, MyEclipse will stop functioning. So really the point the FAQ entry is trying to make is that your purchase of $30 is not tied to a single version of MyEclipse, you can upgrade any number of times during that year to even new major releases.

    I hope that helps.
