After installing eclipse via the executable, I am getting this error…it was working before, but all of a sudden it start spitting out this error.
Any pearls of wisdom welcomed!

I am installing using this: eclipse-SDK-3.0.1-win32.zip
OS: Win XP
I already have the jsdk installed. I get the error when I click on the eclipse executable file.

The log file is located in your <workspace dir>\.metadata\.log file, please check it out as the dialog mentions and post the error here for us to see what is going on.
One problem (without knowing your system setup) may be that Eclipse is finding and trying to launch itself with JDK 1.3.x instead of 1.4.x
