I do see some comments on this topic but not very down to earth how to actually do this. Can anybody tell me how to import a project created with GWT into MyEclipseIDE after it has already been setup to be imported into Eclipse.

We need to know the details how to import that project, use the jar files etceteras and how to fit that in the slightly different MyEclipse way of working. Consider me a novice developer and we are at par.

It must be possible and I am sure that somebody must have done this before and we cannot be the first to come up with this. That would really surprise me.

System Windows XP Pro SP2, sufficient hardware to run on
    Eclipse 3.2.1 current running
Apache server running locally for further testing
MyEclipse 5.0 planned to get to make development environment more complete and up to date

In return I do have some better instructions for those interested that I could post here how to create a GWT project that you can import into Eclipse, and hopefully after this request how to import this into MyEclipseIDE as well. 💡

    Kind Regards, Gert Jan Zeilstra

    Gert,
I’ve asked one of our more seasoned users to see if he can help you out, I believe he was using GWT and MyEclipse as well. Thank you for starting this thread for others in a similar situation.

    Gert,

I’m confused… Are you saying you have a project in another version of Eclipse and now you want it *in* MyEclipse? If so, think of ME as just another Eclipse… Simply right click on your Package Explorer pane and select Import. From there Select the “Existing Projects into Workspace” option and follow the prompt in the Wizard/Dialog. As for how to create a new GWT project with Eclipse from scratch, that’s documented here:

    Hi,
I have a slightly similar problem.. I have an eclipse java project which is using GWT. Now I am required to merge that with an existing Myeclipse WEB project. I can work on the GWT project as an isolated project, but I just do not know how to merge it with the existing myeclipse web project. I just dont know where to put what in MyEclipse Web project.
There are tools out there e.g http://www.cypal.in/studio which let you add web modules to the GWT but they use WTP (Web tools platform) and our problem is we are using myeclipse Web projects.
Is there any document anywhere which details how to do this?
