Has 4.0 improved the process of genning j2ee modules? Specifically, although xdoclet is great, it should be completely transparent (unless I want to play with it) and not require any setup via properties. The way I envision creating an ejb, for example:

1. Choose new ejb wizard, and specify general j2ee detail. (Remote/local, etc.)
2. Add business methods.
3. Build/deploy.

Same for servlets/jsp’s. The ide knows my servers, knows my choices, let it handle xdoclet settings.

How does 4.0 behave regarding this issue?

MyEclipse 4.0 M1/M2 behaves just like 3.8.4 in EJB development. But we do have enhancements for EJB development planned for future releases that automate much of the xdoclet configuration as you suggest (or even do away with it ala EJB3). But they will be after 4.0 is released.
