    Hello,

Often, after I use MyEclipse and put my machine on Standby for the day, when I come back the next day and try to come out of standby, all I get is Windows wallpaper.

I then have to cold start my machine.

It appears that whenever this happens, I just used MyEclipse the day before.

Below is my MyEclipse icon’s properties:

    “C:\Program Files\eclipse\eclipse.exe” -vm “C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin\javaw.exe” -vmargs -Xms128M -Xmx512M -XX:PermSize=64M -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -Dosgi.splashLocation=”C:\Program Files\MyEclipse5\eclipse\MyEclipseSplash.bmp”

Are there any changes I can make so my machine will behave better (that is, not require hitting the “Big Red Switch”)?

    Thanks in advance.

    M,

I’ve been getting a similar issue with two different XP machines, one of which never runs MyEclipse. I’m able to standby well for several times but then it either won’t standby or hibernate or when coming out of standby it won’t allow login (like your case). From what I’ve seen I don’t think it’s a MyEclipse thing but more a “how long has windows been running” thing.

    Hi Scott,

    I beg to differ.

It’s happened twice today. I had to restart the machine (turn it all the way off).

Based on what’s been happening, I **do** think it’s a MyEclipse thing.

I just wish I knew what it was…

As it is now, unless you can fix this, I’ll have to turn off my machine every time I use MyE — which is better than coming out of standby to a blank screen (except for the wallpaper).

I’m getting really tired of running CHKDSK/F/R several times a week.

Can you please look into this issue more seriously? (I know you’re “serious” <s>, I just mean could you please log this issue as a potential bug/problem).

It seems a relatively recent problem (5.1.x), but that’s just a guess.

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Scott,

I should have also added in my reply above that if I’m not using MyE for a few days or week or more, the standby problem does not occur.

When I’m using MyE like today, it’s happened twice already.

    Sigh…
