I would like to be able to disable the Quick Update feature, but can’t seem to find how to do this. Please advise.

I have checked that the setting is unchecked, and it is. However, every time I restart MyEclipse, it runs Quick Update. I have even set the Update Schedule setting to look for updates once every Monday morning, but this has no effect. Quick Update runs every time, and it hangs MyEclipse for about half a minute, until Quick Update has either given up trying to make a connection (this was before I set the correct proxy server setting in the network connections), or I have dismissed the username and password box several times. Only then does Quick Update give up.
This is annoying. Please advise how to completely disable Automatic Updates. Is there a configuration file I can hack?

Like I said, you will have to uncheck the “Show Quick Install Next Time MyEclipse Starts” option at the bottom when this window pops up.Also, you can go to Windows > Preferences > Install/Update > Automatic Updates and uncheck Automatically Find New Updates and Notify Me.
If the problem still persists, try switching to a new workspace and check if it goes away.
p.s. You will get the update option the first time you open a new workspace and use it. You can follow the above mentioned steps and disable it.
