Is there anyone that can tell me how to get myEclipse to run using Java 1.7. I’ve tried numerous ways that I’ve found on this forum and on the web to get it run with jdk 1.7, but none of them work. I’ve downloaded, upgraded, tried setting the execution environment to jdk1.7.0_17 from the preferences window to no avail. anyone?

    psalazar,

Java 7 support is available in MyEclipse 10.x and MyEclipse 2013 versions.

Can you please follow these steps and check whether you can work with java 1.7 :
    1) Go to Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JRE’s > click on Add > Select standard VM and click Next > Select the JDK 1.7 directory and click Finish.
    2) Clicking on finish will list JDK1.7 under ‘installed JRE’s’ section. Select JDK 1.7 listed and click Ok.
    3) Go to Window > Preferences > Java > Compiler > select 1.7 from the ‘Compiler compliance level’ drop down list and click ‘Apply’ and Ok

If you are still facing issue, can you please share your MyEclispe installation details from MyEclipse (menu) > Installation summary > Installation details ? Also, please share us the exact details to help us replicate the issue at our end ?

Let us know how it works for you.
