I have installed Myeclipse and configured the webmodule.

Auto completion and app server integration works fine. The application server i am using is tomact 4.1.

Now i have checked the compile jsp’s in window->prefernece->myeclipse->editors->jsp/html editor.

    But nothing happens.

    How do i compile jsp’s.

    regards
    Kicky

    Kicky,
Make sure you have Window > Preferences > Workbench > “Perform Build on Resource Modification”, turned ON. Then your JSP pages will be compiled when you save them. Keep in mind though that we use compilation as an internal means of validating the JSP page, we don’t compile them and then you deployed the compiled copies. When you deploy to your app server, you still deploy the *source* JSP pages and the app server has to compile them again.

Is there a way to compile jsp as such in Netbeans so that if there is a problem then it goes to the line number that has the problem.

Yes, if you follow the directions I posted, then the errors in your JSP pages will be marked with an “X” and the problems displayed in your task view… much like the Java editor in Eclipse works when you have errors in your Java source files.
