    MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench
    Version: 7.1.1
    Build id: 7.1.1-20090310

Our web project was initially create w/ J2EE4. “Properties” – “MyEclipse” sez “Java Enterprise Specification 1.4”. we need to upgrade to J2EE5 in order to take advantage of some new features….but i cannot find where to do this. if i create a new project it asks me “J2EE 3 or 4 or 5” so i know that J2EE5 is somewhere in the bowels of MyEclipse.

We have added the J2EE5 libraries to the project…but we’re unable to add RESTful services (as MyEclipse thinks we’re still at J2EE4)

help! the project is too big to create a new J2EE5 project and copy/reconfigure files.

    David,

Automatically upgrading a project isn’t supported (because the nitty gritty detailed differences of the two kinds of projects can be quite different) — but if you know it’s a safe upgrade you can go to the Navigator view and edit your .project file to include the appropriate nature and builders to match the same data from a Java EE 5.

So just create a new skeleton Java EE 5 web project, and study it’s .project file and move over the important bits into your existing 1.4 project — also be sure to compare and move the necessary parts from .mymetadata and then close/reopen your project and MyEclipse should treat it OK.
