I am new to the coding process. How do you invoke the iPhone Keypad in an app?

There is no api for opening the virtual keyboard. Typically the user needs to click/tap into either an input field or textarea widget. There is a way to automatically focus to one of these type of widgets from javascript by setting focus to the widget. Is that what you are looking for?
