Specs: Mac OS 10.6, Java 1.6.0_20

    The problem:
When trying to add create a Web Service I get an “Incompatible Compiler Compliance Level” popup which states:

    To correct this situation either:
    1) Launch MyEclipse with a Java 1.6 virtual machine, or
    2) Change the project or workspace Java compiler settings to be Java 1.5.0_24 compliant, see Window>Pref…

    What I’ve already done:
    1. Set the Java Compiler compliance level to 1.6 and restarted MyEclipse.

I still am getting this message. I want to use Java 1.6 and not revert back to Java 1.5 so #2 is not a solution. How do I accomplish #1?

    davidlgnw,

Can you copy and paste your myeclipse.ini file located in your myeclipse installation dir? I ask because the default JDK used to launch MyEclipse is configured here.
Also can you copy and paste your installation details here. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
Have you configured JDK1.6 as your default? If not configure complete JDK 1.6 here – Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs. Check the checkbox for jdk1.6.0 to set it as default.
