Hello,
I have version 6.0.1 installed currently.
I tried to point the update manager by using “Eclipse Project Updates”, but got this (network error):
Unable to access “http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/6.5.1GA”.
Unable to access site: “http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/6.5.1GA” [Server returned HTTP response code: “403 Forbidden” for URL: http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/6.5.1GA.%5D

MyE doesn’t automatically find the 6.5.1 update using either update existing or look for new features.
So, what’s the correct way to upgrade?
Thanks in advance.

Loyal WaterMemberDid you add the following remote site when you went to Help > Software Update > FInd and Install …
http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/discovery-6.5/After adding this remote site, do you see the 6.5.1 update patch along with the 6.5 update under the node that gets added to the list?
July 22, 2008 at 10:42 am #287384I can get to the site now, but when I select the updates, I get this error at the top of the update dialog (prevents the update from running)::
MyEclipse HotFix-600.1: SecurityException with Signed Libraries (6.0.0.zmyeclipse60020070824) requires plug-in “com.genuitec.eclipse.core (6.0.0)”, or equivalent.

I tried to update for the currently-installed MyEclipse, but it didn’t find anything to update.
Now what do I do????

Riyad KallaMemberAhh, Mork, the quick fix is to go to Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration, and find that HotFix listed under the MyEclipse node, right-click on it, and disable it.
Then you should be able to apply the update no problem. Sorry for the hickup.
July 24, 2008 at 11:52 am #287498Thanks R.
That got me past the first problem, but then I was presented with a dialog that told me I had duplicate items in my configuration. Sure enough, under configuration, I had two MyEclipse 6.0.1s and two report entries.
I tried the “disable” trick you mentioned to handle these duplicate entries, but that was denied since MYE said it would “invalidate the current configuration”.
So, is it OK to install 6.5 given these duplicate warnings?
I’m guessing so, but wanted to make sure so things don’t get messed up.
Thanks again in advance.

Riyad KallaMemberMork,
It should be fine, duplicates are usually ignored anyway… if anything goes south on you, hopefully it’s easy enough to setup a clean install anyway. Not sure why you have duped 6.0.1 entries… oh well.
July 24, 2008 at 3:56 pm #287525Upgrading now… will write back if any problems encountered.
Thanks again R.
