I’m hoping that this is a pretty basic question. We’re using version 9.1 of MyEclipse, customized with a variety of installed plugins. I’m trying to find out how to install the newest version and use the same plugin setup, without having to find and reconfigure all of those plugins. That would be prohibitive. There must be a procedure for doing this sort of thing, right?

The base eclipse for ME 9.1 and 10 are different. 9.1 is based on Eclipse Helios whereas 10 is based on Eclipse Indigo. Plugins added to 9.1 may not work in 10 if they are not compatible with the base Eclipse 3.7. You need to ensure that the plugins are compatible.
In case your plugins in 9.1 are compatible with 10, and you have added these using dropins. You could copy the same plugins from ME 9.1 installation dir/ dropins to ME 10 installation dir/dropins and restart the 10 IDE.
In case you have added plugins in 9.1 using update sites, you need to add relevant compatible update sites to ME 10.That’s what I was afraid of. Setting up all those update sites and configuring is very time consuming. I guess there’s no way to share the existing profile where all that is already set up, with the new version?
