    Hi,

I have been trying to use MyEclipse’s HTML editor to edit a FreeMarker template with encoding ISO-8859-1. However, the encoding seems to be ignored when the file is saved. If I save the file, close it and open it again immediately after, it will show up with invalid characters where i have accents or tildes (portuguese words mainly). I’ve tried changing the editor settings but had no luck whatsoever.

    Regards,

What version of Eclipse and MyEclipse? We fixed a lot of encoding issues recently.

    Hi,

I am using Eclipse 3.1.1 and MyEclipse 4.1.1 GA.

    Bruno,
Where are you setting the encoding? In the editor preferences or in the file itself? Encodings are actually handled in a not-so-clear way and we are hoping to address that in 5.0.

I just set the default encoding to latin-1 (iso-8859-1), the file itself does not have an associated encoding (it’s just a fragment of a webpage)
