Hi,
I’m not able to use Software Updates feature. It shows me some proxy errors when I try to do any software updates. This is very much irritating. I have never seen such things before from MyEclipse. I’m loosing my productivity. Can you please help me immediatey with this.
Is there a patch release. I came to know that this is a known bug. Is there a fix already available for this?
An internal error occurred during “Importing Maven Projects” Ntlm Credential required for NTLM Authentification. is the message that I get when I try to import any Maven projects or in general when it searches for somethig in the internet via the proxy.
The Help/Software Updates/Check for updates option should work to refresh the (Pulse based) Add/Remove software feature to the latest release. That should resolve most issues related to NTLM authentication problems (from what I read in this forum).

TonIf you’re behind a firewall at work and can’t get your IT folks to open things up to the MyEclipse site, you’re pretty much screwed on updating anything with 7.0… at least that’s what I’m seeing on many posts. MyEclipse seems dedicated to this Pulse thing and you can no longer upgrade by downloading the Archived update site… unless they’ve changed something very, very recently.
The updates of some basic components is just outside the Pulse thing so to be able to update pulse when it might fail…, the NTLM stuff should be fixed now with all the updates they pushed out around christmas ’08, and they announced an update to the plugin system for this month (late january 2009) to allow dropping stuff into the plugins directory, like the original Eclipse mechanism.
Something isn’t broken until it doesn’t work; with both the proxies I have to deal with, it’s just Ok now, although it didn’t work for nearly 8 months on my private WinGate proxy, up until the major pulse update early in december.HTH
TonSo what is the solution?? Even I’m not able to see the javadoc from sun. When I do this,
String s = oldString. (the moment that I place a . it asks for authentification to the NTLM proxy to connect me to the java doc location from sun). I’m not able to do anything.
