    I’m having weird startup issues as well, and was giving the same “advice” about the workspace folder possibly being the culprit.

    In my case a fresh install of MyEclipse crashes when started.

    No ideas what to try.

    When it does “start” (after multiple, multiple) attempts, it takes over 4 minutes to get to the point where it’s “Loading the Workspace”.

    I have a 2 GB memory machine, dual core, where 6.0 ran fine. I have about 1 GB free memory.

    Totally confused what’s wrong with this product…

    Just to update this thread, I had the same problem a few days after a fresh install of 7.0 from the bundled standalone installer. The installer set my JRE in the myeclipse.ini to a 1.5_011. I was get the IClassPathEntry error upon opening the IDE, when trying to start a server (JBoss 4.22), and I when saving edits to files.

    I changed the JRE to a 1.6 version and the problems have disappeared for now.

    Goto Window -> Preferences
    click on Resore Defaults button then click on Apply, OK button.
    Restart Myeclipse 8.5 it may solve your problem.
