ddumitruMemberHi,
I downloaded a trial version of MyEclipse. The trial period expired. I purchased an annual “pro” subscription. After entering the subcription information, the basic IDE “Search” menu options are disabled, as if I didn’t have permissions to perform this action. I tried starting eclipse with the eclipse.exe -clean option, but to no avail. It looks like (to me) that the problem is license related, as it only started happening after I enter the subscription information.
Your help is appreciated.
Thanks,

Scott AndersonParticipantDan,
You’ve got MyEclipse 5.0 Milestone 2 installed and the best advice I can give you is simply to install MyEclipse 5.0.x GA. We made literally hundreds of fixes and enhancements between M2 and the final GA build and any one of those issues could be causing what you’re seeing.
The way I’d recommend that you proceed is to install a new instance of Eclipse 3.2 SDK and then download and install MyEclipse so that it uses that new instance. Once that’s done you can open your existing workspace and continue developing, hopefully without issue.
Full instructions on installing / updating to ME 5.0 is here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2+file-viewtopic-t-13679.html

Eric ChristensenMemberI’m having the same problem. I can still use ctrl+H to search, but the options are disabled in the menu.

Scott AndersonParticipantEric,
We need more information to help you. Can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can determine if this is an installation issue, a configuration problem, or a bug. Thanks.

Scott AndersonParticipantEric,
Can you walk us through an exact scenario of when this occurs? For example, what type of file are you editing? Which editor are you using? Does it happen with any search? Only after the first search, etc? Can you give us a set of reproducable steps so we can try to replicate the behavior to see what you’re seeing please?

Riyad KallaMemberEric,
Was this situation resolved? If not, please reply to Scott’s post so we can help you figure out what is going on. -
